Korean Peninsula Today, 05 June 2009
- The US Ambassador to South Korea, Kathleen Stephens, said in a forum with South Korean journalists that the United States has put "all options" on the table to counter North Korea's continued provocations, adding Washington will pursue its own sanctions after the UN takes action against the communist nation for its latest nuclear test.
- A North Korean patrol boat intruded over the NLL and crossed into the South Korean side at 2:47 PM, 04 June. The patrol boat retreated back to the North Korean side after a standoff that lasted nearly an hour. The intrusion occurred about 12 km off the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong, near which naval battles erupted between the two Korean naval forces in 1999 and 2002.

- As of the time of this posting, there has not been any North Korean media follow-up reporting on the trial of the two US journalists. The last North Korean media reporting on this subject was the 03 June Korean Central News Agency's one line report announcing the trial will begin at 3:00 PM, 04 June 2009 (local time).
